Christmas Jumpers and Giant Cats

On Thursday 15th December we held another Christmas Lunch, this time for the Ecclesall Live at Home Scheme. This was followed by our annual Christmas joiner party on Friday 16th December. As it was Christmas jumper day, the staff dug out their most exciting Christmas jumpers and dressed just for the occasion. We of course raised money for the amazing Save the Children whilst looking so festive!img_1388

On Saturday 17th December, the wedding of James and Nikki took place in our Oak Room. They said their vows and emerged as Mr and Mrs Staff. Nikki arrived just in time for her grand entrance, in such a wonderful, vintage car. I absolutely love vintage cars and they also look so at home in front of the grand looking Hall. In the entrance was a wonderful array of Christmas themed decorations to entice the guests in. Their card box was just so cute, with a small knitted robin perched on top. Their ceremony room was decorated absolutely beautifully and was definitely fit for Christmas! The entire room was decorated with fairy lights which looked absolutely spectacular along with the tree and twinkly garlands. The chairs were decorated with simple white bows so not to take away from the eye-catching decoration.

Through into the Garden Suite, which was also decorated with glistening Christmas lights; the tables were set ready for their first meal as a married couple. James and Nikki had decided to go for quite simple table decoration and had delicate gypsophila surrounded by rustic tea light holders. I think these looked absolutely perfect on their tables as they didn’t take up too much room but still looked beautiful. Each guest had their own jar of smarties along with a homemade gingerbread man/woman (there was even a gingerbread child for the baby!) which have to be my favourite ever favours. Each of these wonderful gingerbread people were also used as the place cards. Upstairs, the rooms were find with a range of wedding day activities including huge cut outs of their cats for those all-important drunken photo’s. I must say, if you ever want amazingly funny pictures from your wedding day, I can guarantee that human-sized cut outs of your pets will definitely do the trick! I really wish I had managed to get a cheeky picture with them!

Next week is CHRISTMAS! There will be lots of festive pictures I’m sure!
