This week has been a very busy one at Whirlowbrook Hall!
Our first event of the week was the Wedding of Mr and Mrs Thorton who joined us after their civil ceremony that took place at the city hall in Sheffield on Wednesday 27th July.
I must mention at this point, that Frankie and Phil had only booked the wedding one month before they were due to marry! This was an amazing achievement as most couples book their wedding two years out. Frankie and Phil’s wedding was intimate gathering of family and friends in our Garden Suite. Their table layout was possible one of the most creative ones we’ve seen yet. It meant that all their guests were close enough to talk to without even leaving their seats.
My favourite part of their wedding, without a doubt, was the cake table. The lovely one tier cake was made by Frankie’s friends at work and was delicately decorated with blue flowers which matched her theme perfectly. The cupcakes that were also on display were lovingly made by Frankie’s young daughter. I could not believe my eyes when I saw them! I like to think I’m quite a good baker myself but even I would struggle to make such beautiful cupcakes that were all perfectly decorated.
A funeral was sadly out second event of the week, which took place on Thursday 28th July. We extend our sincere condolences to family and friends that attended Whirlowbrook Hall on this day and hope we see you again in the future under better circumstances.
The wedding of Mr and Mrs Hope which took place on Friday 29th July was the first of our civil ceremony’s this weekend. Simon and Hayley went for a vintage look with hessian incorporated in every aspect of the wedding. I think that my absolute favourite part of their wedding was their creative eye when it came making their table plan. The table plan itself was a vintage looking photo frame on which sat 9 smaller photo frames each with tables of guest’s names inside. I just love how simple yet effective this looked!
The pictures that I took of Hayley and Simon’s wedding prove that a lot of planning and hard work in the run up to your wedding really makes a difference. The way that everything tied together even in the tiniest details was really effective.
Nathalia and Callum opted for a church ceremony and joined us at the Hall after for their wedding breakfast and evening reception. Mr and Mrs Flanagan had lots of unique decorations that we had never seen before and we loved every single one of them! The decorations that they used in the garden were definitely a highlight and emphasised the beauty of the Hall even more (If that is even possible!)
Their simple, rustic touch on their wedding cake and cake of cheese looked absolutely amazing and the wooden blocks really complimented the theme. Their table plan had possibly been one of the most creative table plans we have seen. Each table was hanging from a branch of the tree surrounded by hanging candles and roses. Each table was named after a type of tree which we thought was amazing because so are our rooms at the Hall!
Our fourth and final wedding of the week took place on Sunday 31st July and saw Sophie and Tim become Mr and Mrs Jackson in our beautiful Oak Room. Sophie and Tim’s wedding has such pretty decorations and really made our Oak Room and Garden Suite look great! Their table centres were absolutely amazing and definitely made us all want to buy one for home. Each one was a different cocktail loved by the Bride and Groom, which had been made into a candle. These looked incredible once they were lit and event smelled like the cocktail too!
Their card box which was made as a present for the wedding; was striking and an absolutely perfect fit for under our stairs. Being the first thing you see as you walk into the Hall, an eye-catching card box is always a good thing! At the end of the night Sophie and Tim managed to get their wishing well all the way to their hotel in a taxi, it must have been such an entertaining journey!
Sophie and Tim have been one of our first couples to have a ‘Pimp your Prosecco’ station for their celebration drinks. This is so fun for guests and allows them to choose which flavour Prosecco they would prefer. Our staff love it almost as much as the guests do!
A special thank you to our Sales Manager, Lucy for coming up with the name for this week’s blog.
We hope all our guests had an amazing time with us and we cannot wait to see what next week brings!
